Dissolved Acetylene (DA) C₂H₂Supplier & Manufacturer in India

Cylinder-filled DA for oxy-acetylene welding & cutting — since 1947.

Formula: C₂H₂Flame temperature: ~3,100 °C in oxygenState: Dissolved in acetone (porous mass)
Dissolved Acetylene (DA) (C₂H₂) — International Industrial Gases Ltd

Dissolved acetylene (DA) supplied in porous-mass cylinders charged with acetone — the hottest oxy-fuel gas and the standard for cutting, welding and flame heating. As global leaders in acetylene since 1947, IIGAS controls quality end to end.

Acetylene (C₂H₂) burns hotter than any other fuel gas in oxygen — an oxy-acetylene flame reaches around 3,100 °C — which makes it the first choice for oxy-fuel cutting, welding, brazing and flame heating. Free acetylene is unstable under pressure, so it is dissolved in acetone within a porous mass inside the cylinder; this is why it is supplied as "dissolved acetylene" (DA), the safe way to store and transport the gas.

International Industrial Gases Ltd has manufactured acetylene since 1947 and is a global leader in acetylene technology — we build the gas plants, generate the gas, purify and dry it, charge cylinders with acetone and fill DA cylinders, controlling quality at every step. Standard DA is used across fabrication, shipbuilding, construction and automotive work; our ultra-high-purity (UHP) acetylene, with ultra-low PH₃ and H₂S, serves precision flame work and atomic-absorption spectroscopy in laboratories, aerospace and pharmaceuticals.

DA is supplied in single cylinders and manifolded cylinder banks, to IS 308, CGA and SMPV safety rules, with flashback arrestors and accessories available for safe handling.

Frequently asked questions

Free acetylene is unstable above about 1 bar, so it is dissolved in acetone held in a porous mass inside the cylinder, which makes it safe to store and transport as dissolved acetylene (DA).
An oxy-acetylene flame reaches about 3,160 °C — the hottest of any oxy-fuel gas — which is why acetylene is the standard fuel for cutting and welding.
Oxy-acetylene cutting, welding, brazing and flame heating; flame gouging, hardening, straightening and metallising; and as a chemical feedstock and AAS fuel in its UHP grade.
As a rule of thumb, draw no more than about one-seventh of the cylinder contents per hour; higher rates need a manifold/bank to avoid carrying over acetone.
99.5%+ standard dissolved acetylene, with ultra-high-purity (UHP) grade available for laboratory and spectroscopy use.
As global leaders in acetylene since 1947, we build the gas plants, generate, purify, dry and fill the gas ourselves, controlling quality end to end.
Always fit flashback arrestors at the regulator and torch, use non-return valves, keep cylinders upright, and never exceed recommended working pressures (acetylene must not be used above 1 bar gauge at the torch).
Store upright in a well-ventilated area away from oxygen cylinders and ignition sources; allow lying-down cylinders to stand upright before use so acetone settles.
IS 308, CGA practice and the SMPV (Unfired) Rules, with porous mass and acetone charging to recognised norms.
