Dissolved acetylene (DA) supplied in porous-mass cylinders charged with acetone — the hottest oxy-fuel gas and the standard for cutting, welding and flame heating. As global leaders in acetylene since 1947, IIGAS controls quality end to end.
Acetylene (C₂H₂) burns hotter than any other fuel gas in oxygen — an oxy-acetylene flame reaches around 3,100 °C — which makes it the first choice for oxy-fuel cutting, welding, brazing and flame heating. Free acetylene is unstable under pressure, so it is dissolved in acetone within a porous mass inside the cylinder; this is why it is supplied as "dissolved acetylene" (DA), the safe way to store and transport the gas.
International Industrial Gases Ltd has manufactured acetylene since 1947 and is a global leader in acetylene technology — we build the gas plants, generate the gas, purify and dry it, charge cylinders with acetone and fill DA cylinders, controlling quality at every step. Standard DA is used across fabrication, shipbuilding, construction and automotive work; our ultra-high-purity (UHP) acetylene, with ultra-low PH₃ and H₂S, serves precision flame work and atomic-absorption spectroscopy in laboratories, aerospace and pharmaceuticals.
DA is supplied in single cylinders and manifolded cylinder banks, to IS 308, CGA and SMPV safety rules, with flashback arrestors and accessories available for safe handling.
