Software built by a gas company, for gas companies

Cylinder Tracking System — Gas Cylinder Management Software

Every gas company loses cylinders — to untracked deliveries, forgotten returns and paper challans. IIGAS CTS is the cylinder tracking system we built to run our own plants and depots, and now offer to other gas companies: every cylinder tracked by serial number from filling to dispatch to return, with billing, approvals and audit built in.

Built by a gas company that runs it every day

CTS was not written by a software vendor guessing how a gas plant works. IIGAS — a gas manufacturer since 1947 — built it to run its own filling stations and depots, and our group companies use it daily to track thousands of cylinder movements. Every screen exists because our own operators, managers and accountants needed it.

That is why it is simple enough for a plant operator to use on a phone in the filling shed, yet complete enough to run billing, compliance and audit for the whole company.

What CTS does

  • Cylinder register — every cylinder by serial number, gas, capacity, status and current holder
  • Dispatch & return — scan the cylinder or type the serial; both work equally fast
  • Filling records — track IIGAS and customer cylinders through the filling shed
  • Digital challans — numbered, printable, linked to every movement
  • Approval workflow — operator entries reviewed by manager / director before they apply
  • Automated rental billing — monthly accrual with tiered rates, statements per customer
  • Overdue tracking — see every cylinder past its return window, per customer
  • Hydrotest alerts — know which cylinders are due for periodic testing
  • Reports, filling analytics, complete history and a tamper-evident audit trail
  • Role-based access — operator, manager, admin, director and a customer portal

Why gas companies need it

A lost industrial cylinder costs ₹7,500–₹12,000 to replace — and most gas companies cannot say with certainty where every cylinder is. Paper challans go missing, returns go unrecorded, rental billing leaks revenue, and a PESO inspection or hydrotest audit means days of searching registers.

CTS answers the three questions that decide a gas company’s margins: where is every cylinder, who owes us cylinders or money, and which cylinders are due for testing. Customer holdings, overdue lists and billing statements come straight from the same movement records your operators create with each scan — no double entry, no reconciliation.

Simple enough for the filling shed, on any phone

Operators get a phone-first screen with four big actions — dispatch, return, fill, look up — and nothing else. No training courses, no manuals: if they can use WhatsApp, they can use CTS. Managers and directors get the full dashboard, approvals and reports on desktop.

CTS runs in the browser on any device — nothing to install, updates arrive automatically, and it keeps working through patchy plant connectivity.

Proven in production, offered to the industry

CTS already runs the cylinder operations of IIGAS group companies — tracking oxygen, dissolved acetylene, nitrogen, argon and CO₂ cylinders across plants and depots. We now license it to other gas manufacturers, fillers and distributors, with setup, data migration from your existing registers (Excel import included), operator training and ongoing support from people who run gas plants themselves.
