Complete, turnkey acetylene gas plants engineered and manufactured by IIGAS — the world No. 1 in acetylene plant technology since 1947, trusted by 2500+ customers worldwide for plants that are up to 99.8% efficient and dependable.
An acetylene gas plant generates acetylene (C₂H₂) from calcium carbide and water, then purifies, dries, compresses and fills the gas into dissolved-acetylene (DA) cylinders. International Industrial Gases Ltd (IIGAS) is the world’s No. 1 acetylene gas plant manufacturer and exporter — designing, manufacturing, installing and commissioning complete turnkey acetylene plants since 1947, trusted by 2500+ customers across India and worldwide, with plant & equipment efficiency of 99.8%.
How the acetylene generation process works: graded calcium carbide (25–50 mm) is metered by a controlled screw / automatic feed into a water-filled generator, where the carbide-to-water reaction produces acetylene gas at low / medium pressure (below about 0.96 bar / 14 psig). The gas passes a hydraulic back-pressure valve and flame trap, then chemical purification (removing phosphine PH₃, hydrogen sulphide H₂S and moisture), high-pressure drying, and a water-cooled W-type submerged acetylene compressor. Finally it is charged into DA cylinders pre-packed with a porous mass and acetone, the safe way to store and transport acetylene.
Capacities and models: IIGAS acetylene plants are engineered from about 15 Nm³/hr up to 250 Nm³/hr, with popular models at 15, 25, 45, 50, 100 and 200 Nm³/hr, plus portable H-type and B-type acetylene generators for on-site production. Every plant is fully automated and can be operated by a single trained operator, so you can match capacity precisely to your cylinder-filling throughput.
Complete turnkey scope: calcium-carbide handling, the acetylene generator, hydraulic safety valves with flame and flashback arrestors, the chemical purification system, high-pressure dryer, water-cooled acetylene compressor, acetone charging and porous-mass cylinder preparation, and the dissolved-acetylene cylinder-filling manifold — engineered to NFPA 51A, CGA, EIGA and ASME practice with automated safety interlocks throughout.
Applications: acetylene produced by these plants is used for oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, brazing and flame heating across fabrication, shipbuilding, construction, automotive and metalworking industries, and as a chemical feedstock and an atomic-absorption-spectroscopy fuel gas. As a world-class manufacturer and exporter of acetylene gas plants, IIGAS delivers projects worldwide and backs them with lifetime spares (acetone pumps, flame/flashback arrestors, carbide lime), commissioning support and operator training.
Why IIGAS is the global No. 1 acetylene plant manufacturer: more than 75 years of dedicated acetylene-plant engineering since 1947, plants renowned for being up to 99.8% dependable and 98–99% efficient, complete turnkey responsibility from design to commissioning, and an installed base trusted by 2500+ customers — outperforming alternatives on reliability, safety and after-sales support.
